I am so proud of my son. 

He’s in high school, loves playing guitar, and has dreams of becoming an engineer.  He’s a sixth generation New Mexican.  Our family roots are in Berino, Anthony and Las Alturas.

But my son – and all of us – lives in another world as well.  That’s the world of today.  We have the coronavirus pandemic, an oil and gas collapse, and a real reckoning on race relations.  

What needed to guide us through this time is leadership, and I see it throughout southern New Mexico every day – leadership with both beet firmly planted in both worlds.  As your Democratic State Representative and the only southern New Mexico legislator in Democratic House leadership, I hope to continue making sure your voice, and that of southern New Mexico’s, impact the major decisions facing our state.
